The air is getting colder and the leaves are changing colors—fall is here! Since we are frequently asked for recommendations on family-friendly fall activities, we put together this helpful list for you. Enjoy this festive time of year!

 

Trick or Treating

 

While trick-or-treating in your neighborhood is always a fun option, here are some larger trick-or-treating and trunk-or-treating events around the community.

 

Reno

 

Trick-or-Treating at the Discovery Museum

Visit the museum in costume and trick-or-treat from gallery to gallery. There’ll be spooky decorations and delicious treats. 

  • Date: October 29, 2022

  • Members-only: 10:00am – 12:00pm

  • General admission: 12:00 – 5:00pm

  • Cost:

    • Members: $3 child/$2 adult

    • Nonmembers: $4 child/$3 adult

Hope Community Church Trunk-or-Treat

Hosted at Cyan Park, this trunk-or-treat is one of the best in South Reno. 

  • Date: October 30th, 6-8pm

St. Luke’s Lutheran Church Trunk-or-Treat

The first 400 people can enjoy FREE hot dogs and chips.

  • Date: October 30th, 5-7pm

Sparks

 

Trick-or-Treating at Red Hawk

This is a safe community event for the families to enjoy some free candy to kick off the Halloween season. So get your costumes prepped and swing by the Red Hawk roundabout near the main entrance!

  • Date: Oct. 27, 2022 from 4-7pm

  • Location: Red Hawk Golf and Resort (6600 N Wingfield Pkwy, Sparks, NV 89436)

Carson City

 

Carson City BOOnanza

You can trick-or-treat with over 50 local businesses and organizations under the giant cottonwoods at Mills Park. There will be food trucks, activities, and more! Don’t forget to visit the Carson City Library for some spooky crafts.

Pumpkin Patches, Carnivals, Rides, and More

 

In addition to trick-or-treating, there are several fantastic fall events in our region with a variety of exciting activities.

 

Reno

 

25th Annual Ferrari Farms Fall Festival

A local favorite with a variety of fun activities, including a pumpkin patch, carnival rides, corn maze, hayrides, haunted maze, face painting, animals, movie nights, and more. 

  • Date: October 1st through October 31st

  • Sunday through Thursday – 10:00 am to 8:00 pm

  • Friday & Saturday – 10:00am to 10:00pm

Family Day at The Village at Rancharrah

They’re scaring up a good time with Halloween crafts for the little ones, a bounce house, and trick-or-treating around The Village. There will also be live music, a pop-up market of artisan makers, and more.

Sparks

 

9th Annual PumpkinPalooza at Victorian Square

PumpkinPalooza is a celebration of family and fall in the heart of downtown Sparks, drawing more than 25,000 people. Named a top 10 fall event by Food Network Magazine, PumpkinPalooza features a slew of free and affordable wholesome events for all ages, including Nevada’s only Pumpkin Derby, more than 20 homemade carnival-style games, storytelling, pumpkin decorating, contests, live music, food, and more.

PumpkinPalooza is a fundraiser to benefit the Northern Nevada Center for Independent Living.

Another local favorite, voted as one of the top 10 pumpkin patches in the nation. There’s also animal exhibits, live music, barnyard activities, a corn maze, paintball, rides, and games.

  • Open Wednesdays through Saturdays from 10am-6pm.

Genoa Annual Halloween Party & Hayride

This event begins with a hayride and ends with a party. Meet at the Town Hall to register your goblins and ghouls for the hayride. The town of Genoa will provide pizza and soft drinks for all the...ahem... sweet, delightful, and well-behaved children.
